Registration is open now for Winter-Spring 2008 classes at the Soo Theatre Arts Resource Studios (STARS).
The new term begins January 7 and concludes May 17. Classes, workshops, and lessons for children, teens, and adults are offered in dance, music, acting, visual arts, and yoga. Brochures listing class times and tuition fees are available at STARS or on the website at sootheatre.org.
Interested students should register in person at the STARS office weekdays 10 to 7. The STARS office will be closed Dec. 22-Jan. 1.
Class offerings in dance for new students include Movement & Dance, Pre-Ballet, Ballet I, Beginning Ballet/Jazz A-B, and Ballroom dance.
All dance classes are taught by Dianna George.
David Rhinard will be teaching Acting for grades 6-10 and Acting for grades 11-adult.
Karen Hughes will be teaching Tunes for Toddlers for preschool children with parent, Young Singer Vocal Class for children grades 1-5, and Teen/Adult Voice Class.
A new series of Handmade Book Workshops for children grades 2-5 will be taught by Linda Whitetree Warrington.
Lee Carlson will be offering yoga classes for adults.
Private lessons will be available in violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, recorder, trumpet, French horn, trombone, voice, harp, and piano.
Nancy Powers will also offer Suzuki violin instruction for children ages 3 and older.
